A Lancaster man is headed to state prison for stalking a female college student and burglarizing another student’s home last summer in the city.
Tyler K. Lee, 24, recently pleaded guilty in Lancaster County Court to burglary, attempted burglary, stalking, and related counts regarding the crimes on College Avenue.
In exchange for the plea, Lee will serve 2 to 6 years in prison, in accordance with a plea agreement arranged by Assistant District Attorney Travis S. Anderson.
As part of sentence, Lee is banned from Franklin & Marshall College campus, must be at least 100 yards from any F&M building, and is to have no contact with either victim.
Lancaster County Judge Merrill Spahn Jr. called the crimes “scary” while accepting the plea terms, which included consecutive sentences on each docket.
Lee burglarized a home on July 13, 2016, stealing electronics and personal items.
Several times in June and July 2016, Lee frequented a neighboring home, ringing the doorbell and – on one occasion – left a pair of shoes at the front door. He was charged with trying to enter that home.
Lee later told Lancaster County Prison staff he was having “violent thoughts” about women and he had been observing one female in particular - the stalking victim.
Lee, who had no permanent address, was in possession of a crowbar when he was arrested on July 15, 2016.
Lancaster city police Detectives Gareth Lowe and Jeffrey Bell filed charges in the cases.
