A Lancaster man will serve at least a decade in prison for shooting another man in Lancaster – because the victim called him a “young bull.”

William A. Clark, 23, recently pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault and related counts for the Dec. 27, 2015, incident in the 100 block of South Marshall Street.

He will serve 10 to 20 years in prison, in accordance with a plea agreement accepted Thursday by Lancaster County Judge Merrill Spahn Jr.

Clark opened fire after the victim left a corner store and walked toward a parked vehicle. The victim was shot in the leg and arm.

In court, First Assistant District Attorney Christopher P. Larsen told the judge the shooting was over an exchange of words.

A witness told police he was with Clark and the victim when the victim made the “young bull” comment. It enraged Clark, the witness told police.

Clark threatened the victim, then returned a short time later and opened fire, according to police.

Lancaster city police Detective Tom Ginder filed charges.
