[ARCHIVED] Verdicts: 2 Repeat DUI Offenders Convicted after Lancaster County Crashes

A pair of repeat drunk drivers were recently convicted after separate trials in Lancaster County Court.

William John Russell, 43, and Benuel Nabozny, 33, were found guilty of DUI and related offenses, and will be sentenced after background checks are completed.

Pennsylvania State Police charged Russell with having a .233 percent blood-alcohol level – nearly three times the state’s legal limit for drivers – and marijuana in his system after a June 12, 2016, crash in Salisbury Township.

Russell, of Willow Lane, Gap, crashed his motorcycle in the 5300 block of Old Philadelphia Pike. He was driving on a suspended license.

Lancaster County Judge Margaret Miller convicted Russell on March 2 after a non-jury trial. It was Russell’s second DUI conviction in the past decade.

Assistant District Attorney Gregory Liero won the conviction.

A local jury convicted Nabozny on Feb. 27 regarding a Dec. 14, 2015, crash in Earl Township.

Nabozny, of East Main Street, Leola, crashed his Chevy Camaro into a tree in the 5000 block of Deim Road. His blood-alcohol level was .114 percent.

It was Nabozny’s third DUI conviction. He will be sentenced on March 16.

Assistant District Attorney Jennifer L. Ponessa won the conviction. New Holland police filed charges.
