[ARCHIVED] Police Charge East Lampeter Father and Son with Making, Possessing Child Pornography

David Mishler Sr., David Mishler Jr.

An East Lampeter Township father and his son are charged with creating child pornography and having numerous lewd images and videos at their home.

David J. Mishler Sr., 55, and his son, David J. Mishler Jr. 26, were arraigned Friday morning on several felony counts filed by East Lampeter Township police Detective Preston Gentzler.

Mishler Sr., charged with 11 felonies, including manufacture of child pornography and multiple possession counts, is free after a bondsman posted $50,000 bail.

Mishler Jr., charged with 8 felonies, including manufacture of child pornography and multiple possession counts, is free on $100,000 unsecured bail.

District Judge Denise Commins arraigned the defendants and set bail.

Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart approved the charges.

The Lancaster County Computer Crimes Task Force initially uncovered the lewd materials, which were traced to a home on Lotus Circle, where the Mishlers live.

Detectives seized numerous computers, DVDs, and other devices which contained child pornography.

It was determined during the investigation that both men were altering existing child pornography files by replacing images within the photos.

The senior Mishler placed photos of his own head on persons in some files.

The senior Mishler’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 1.

Mishler Jr. already waived his preliminary hearing on all charges.
