Angelo Zeno (1688-13 – Burglary and related charges; 1694-13 – Arson and related charges)
This afternoon, Honorable Judge Cullen sentenced Mr. Zeno to an aggregate of 24-54 mos. state incarceration followed by 13 years probation. This sentence included restitution, which totaled $1,546.30 for the Burglary and $216,447.29 for the Arson.
Both of the crimes occurred on September 28, 2012. On that date, Zeno and two other individuals entered a shed at the Camp Hill Cemetery in Mount Joy Township and stole tools and gasoline. After the Burglary, Zeno and a juvenile co-defendant proceeded to the Joyland playground in Mount Joy Township. They doused the playground with gasoline and started a fire, which completely destroyed the playground. During the setting of the fire, Zeno became trapped in the playground and suffered serious burn injuries as a result.
Assistant District Attorney Mark Fetterman prosecuted both cases. The Burglary charge was filed by Detective Gregory Wahl, formerly of Northwest Regional PD, now of the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office
The Arson charge was filed by Detective Donald Rusnak of the Mount Joy Borough Police Department (retired).
