A Strasburg woman is facing charges in Lancaster County Court for sending nude photographs of herself to a male student in 2014.

Mattie Jo Evans, 26, waived a preliminary hearing Friday; in turn, District Judge William Benner ordered Evans face these charges in county court: felony disseminating obscene materials to minors and misdemeanor corruption of minors.

Evans was a substitute teacher in the county when she sent about 20 photos to a student during the 2014-15 school year. The student was 16 at the time, according to Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart, lead prosecutor.

West Lampeter Township police were contacted after a third party became aware of the photos.

No physical contact is alleged in the charges.

Evans is free on $25,000 unsecured bail until her next court appearance. She is presumed innocent.

West Lampeter Township police Officer Steven Heinly filed charges.

(A typo on the original criminal complaint caused the appearance of 18 corruption charges; there is only one.)
