[ARCHIVED] Couple Charged in NYC-to-Lancaster Heroin Operation; $12K Supply Seized

Kenneth Williams, Danasia White

A New York couple is being held in Lancaster County on felony charges for trafficking heroin.

Kenneth V. Williams, 29, and Danasia A. White, 19, both of Bronx, N.Y., are charged with felony counts of drug-dealing and conspiracy.

The Lancaster County Drug Task Force filed charges Tuesday, following a vehicle stop in Manheim Township that uncovered $10,000 to $12,000 worth of heroin.

District Judge Ray Sheller arraigned the defendants Tuesday and set Williams’ bail at $5 million and White’s bail at $1 million. Neither had posted as of Friday.

With assistance from Manheim Township police, Drug Task Force detectives stopped a silver Honda, with New York plates and occupied by the defendants, in the 1000 block of New Holland Avenue.

Detectives found 40 grams of bulk heroin hidden in White’s underwear. White told police Williams asked her to stash the drugs there.

Police also found inside the car a box of baggies for packaging and distribution, and a razor blade.

The bulk heroin was in four bags, intended to be broken down into smaller amounts for street sales.

The investigation into the operation is ongoing and more arrests could follow.
About two-thirds of the Drug Task Force’s felony arrests this year involve the distribution of heroin.
