An Elizabethtown woman will serve at least a year in prison for her sixth intoxicated-driving conviction – most of them for high-rate-of-alcohol charges.
Amy E. Horn, 40, recently pleaded guilty in Lancaster County Court to her latest DUI, regarding a June 7 vehicle stop in Quarryville.
Judge David Ashworth ordered a 1-to-2-year prison sentence, which includes a $2,500 fine and 18-month license suspension.

Five of Horn’s six DUI convictions involved a blood-alcohol reading over .16 percent. Her record also includes several driving-under-suspension convictions.
In the latest case, Horn drove up to a checkpoint, visibly intoxicated and smelling of alcohol, Quarryville police Officer Michael Polaski reported. She told police she had a “few beers.”
Testing showed a blood-alcohol level of .205 percent, more than twice the state’s legal limit for drivers.
Assistant District Attorney James Reeder prosecuted the case.
Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman has said about 20 percent of all impaired drivers charged in Lancaster County have priors DUIs. Stedman estimated that amounts to between 300 and 400 drivers each year.
In all, over 1,600 DUI charges were filed last year in Lancaster County.
