A Lancaster man will spend up to five years in state prison for making three separate attempts to break into a home and steal beer.
Trevor Steele-Norton admitted to police that he twice entered a home on Bentley Ridge Boulevard – and tried to get in a third time – last summer.
On one occasion, a female occupant was home and awoke to the stranger in the apartment. She then realized beer was missing from a closet.
Steele-Norton told police he didn’t know who lived there, and went there three times to steal beer.
Recently in Lancaster County Court, Judge Margaret Miller ordered a 2-to-5-year prison term. Steele-Norton, 32, previously pleaded guilty to felony counts of burglary.
Assistant District Attorney Maria Cusick prosecuted the case.
East Lampeter Township police Detective Preston Gentzler filed charges.
