[ARCHIVED] Mount Joy Man Jailed up to 7 Years for 500+ Child-Pornography Photos

A Mount Joy man is headed to state prison for keeping a large collection of child pornography on computers at his home.

Eugene R. Hess III, will serve 1.5 to 7 years in prison and register under Megan’s Law, according to a sentence ordered by Lancaster County President Judge Dennis Reinaker.

Police found more than 500 lewd images during a search of Hess’ electronics at his East Donegal Street home in January. Nearly all of the images depicted pre-teens.

Hess, 29, pleaded guilty to several felony counts and was sentenced Wednesday.

Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart prosecuted the case.

Mount Joy police and Pennsylvania State Police filed charges.
