The Lancaster County Sheriffs Office has advised residents to protect themselves from potential scam phone calls that have been reported. A person falsely identifying themselves as "Lieutenant Adams" has been reportedly calling residents and informing them they have a warrant, asking for money over the phone and that they should reconcile their warrant at the courthouse following payment.
Lancaster County Sheriff's Office will never call someone regarding a warrant nor will they ask for payment over the phone.
Residents are advised that should they receive a call, to contact the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office at 717-299-8200.
