Yesterday evening, Lancaster County Board of Commissioners hosted a check presentation with Lancaster Township Fire Department. The three County Commissioners recently voted unanimously to approved $500,000.00 in funding to assist with the construction of a new fire station at 1275 Millersville Pike. The modern facility will replace two aging structures, provide a safer building for first responders, and decrease response times with its centralized location. Officials are planning to celebrate groundbreaking later this month or early November. A major interest for County government is that this station will also provide emergency response to the proposed new Lancaster County Prison located in Lancaster Township.
