[ARCHIVED] SERT, Drug Task Force Seize Stolen Guns, Charge 2 in Raid at Lancaster Home

The Lancaster County Special Emergency Response Team assisted the County Drug Task Force in a raid this week at a city home that uncovered two stolen pistols, ammo, and several ounces of marijuana.

A man and a woman were arrested during the early-morning operation Tuesday in the 600 block of Rockland Street.

Dequan Marquis Brown, 28, is charged with felony drug dealing and receiving stolen property for one of the guns found.

Jazzlyn Shinay Alvarado, 21, is charged with two felony counts of receiving stolen property (for the guns).

The investigation is ongoing.

Brown and Alvarado are presumed innocent. Brown is at Lancaster County Prison on $100,000 bail. Alvarado’s bail was set at $50,000 unsecured, meaning she is free until her next court appearance.

The BearCat, an armored vehicle, was on the city block Tuesday morning, along with teams who made tactical entry into the rowhome.

No one was injured during the raid.

Police made entry by ramming doors open. Team members were positioned throughout the area, including officers who guarded windows to prevent anyone inside from leaving.

Other individuals were in the home. As of Friday, only Brown and Alvarado are charged. Additional charges could be forthcoming.

The Drug Task Force, currently composed of municipal police officers with countywide jurisdiction and members of Lancaster city police’s Special Enforcement Unit, found the stolen pistols: a Walther P22 semiautomatic and a Charter Arms .22 revolver.

Police also found a box of .22- caliber ammunition and loose ammunition in the house.

Police also found about 1/3 of a pound of marijuana (approximately 5 ounces).

The Drug Task Force raided the home following an investigation of drug dealing and other illegal activities at the location.
