Aspiring lawyers from more than a dozen colleges and universities recently visited the Lancaster County Courthouse for opening round action of the American Mock Trial Association’s National Tournament.

Six prosecutors from our office served as volunteer judges and jurors while assisting the students in navigating the court “proceedings.”

District Attorney Heather Adams spoke at a banquet for the talented future lawyers.

Assistant District Attorneys Mari Andracchio, Caitlin Blazier, Travis Anderson, Christopher Miller, Cody Wade and Lance Greene volunteered over the weekend of March 6.

Students participated in opening rounds at four other locations across the country. Those who advanced will have to wait for their next hearings; the tournament is on hold for the time being.

The following schools were represented in Lancaster:

American University, Tufts University, St. Bonaventure University, Dickinson College, Fordham University, SUNY-Binghamton, La Salle University, Hamilton College, Rutgers University, Georgetown University, SUNY-Geneseo, University of Maryland (Baltimore County), Wesleyan University, George Washington University, University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard University.
