[ARCHIVED] Man with Loaded Pistol and 300 Grams of Meth Jailed up to 11 Years

A Bedford County man will serve up to 11 years in prison for having 300 grams of methamphetamine and a loaded pistol with a round in the chamber last year in East Donegal Township.

Adam Lawson, a convicted felon, had the 9-mm pistol and the 11-ounce meth stash Sept. 23, 2018, when he was stopped by Susquehanna Regional police on River Road at Long Lane.

Lawson, 34, pleaded guilty Friday in Lancaster County Court to felony gun charges, possession with intent to deliver meth, and related counts.

Lancaster County Judge Howard Knisely sentenced Lawson to 5½ to 11 years, in accordance with a plea agreement arranged by Assistant District Attorney Barry Goldman.

Lawson has a prior felony conviction of burglary and illegal possession of a firearm which prohibited him from having a gun at the time of the 2018 incident.

Susquehanna Regional police Officer Zachary Meador filed charges.
