An Akron man was recently convicted in Lancaster County Court of having child pornography.

A local jury deliberated about 20 minutes before returning guilty verdicts to all counts against 62-year-old Robert M. Dennis.

Dennis, of South 9th Street, will be sentenced on Jan. 3, following a background check.

Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart will ask Lancaster County Judge Donald Totaro to consider for sentencing Dennis’ two prior out-of-state convictions on sex-abuse charges.

With the verdict, Judge Totaro raised Dennis’ bail to $250,000, which was not posted.

Swinehart called Lancaster County Detective John Duby, of the Computer Crimes Unit, to testify of images uncovered last year on Dennis’ tablet device.

Akron Borough police Officer Gregory Stone filed charges, which included felony counts of possessing child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.
