The death of a Lancaster city man found Saturday morning in Pequea Township is being investigated by Southern Regional police in conjunction with the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office and Lancaster County Coroner's Office.
The deceased - 48-year-old Ronel Villanueva-Mejias - was found in a field in the 2100 block of New Danville Pike between Long Lane and Stoney Lane. Specifically, if traveling southbound on New Danville Pike, the body was found on the right side of the roadway.

A passerby called 911 just after 7 a.m.
Police and the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office responded to the scene; a deputy coroner responded later in the morning. Police found no obvious signs of trauma.
The cause of death remains under investigation. An autopsy was performed Monday.
Preliminary information indicates the man was transported in a vehicle to the location where he was found.
Investigators are seeking information on any vehicles or persons seen in the area on Friday night or Saturday morning.
