The Lancaster County Department of Parks of Recreation provides a variety of publications available at the Park Office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and at the Shuts Environmental Library Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Publications are also available at the Environmental Center, however, Saturday hours are dictated by scheduled public programs or by reservation only. As one of the county’s more scenic rivers, the Conestoga is a popular waterway for canoeing and kayaking. This Class 1 river runs for 60 miles, emptying into the Susquehanna.
