The Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation is fortunate to work with volunteer groups of all ages and from many different backgrounds including students, homemakers, teachers, members of religious organizations, boy scouts, girl scouts, and retirees, among others.
Volunteers are an integral part of the department. Some of the projects volunteers have helped with include:
Cleaning and waxing playground equipment
Invasive plant and weed control
Trash and debris clean-up
Washing and waxing ranger vehicles
How to Volunteer
If your group would like to volunteer with the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation just follow the basic steps below, and you will soon be on your way to collaborating with the department to serve the residents of Lancaster County.
Complete the application and submit it via email, fax (717-295-5942), or mail to 1050 Rockford Road, Lancaster, PA, 17602.
Upon receipt of your application, we will contact you to further discuss the project with which your group would like to help. Note: Volunteer groups will be asked to provide a certificate of liability insurance.
It is our sincere pleasure to coordinate the specifics between the prospective volunteer and the various department divisions.
