EARLY INTERVENTION RESOURCES
Early Intervention encourages families to research child development so they get an understanding of the milestones expected of their child. There are many websites dedicated to child development and it is important for families to obtain information that is research based. The following list is often recommended by our team but is not all inclusive.
Any family can contact our office, at 717-399-7323, to request a developmental screening for their child. The screenings are typically done over the phone and last about 30 minutes. The screening reviews all 5 areas of development and can help the family identify developmental strengths and concerns. The family can also opt to have an evaluation scheduled following the completion of the screening.
Parent Advisory Network
The Parent Advisory Network is a way for Early Intervention families to connect with each other, have access to parent trainings, and provide ideas to improve Early Intervention services.
Local Interagency Coordinating Council
The Local Inter-agency Coordinating Council is a group made up of families and Early Intervention professionals who seek to improve the quality of the Early Intervention System and improve how Early Intervention serves the developmental needs of children in Lancaster County.
Child Find Committee
The Child Find Committee is a group made up of families and professionals invested in Early Intervention. Their goal is to make certain that all children and families in need of Early Intervention are aware of the services and are able to access them
